Method
- Preheat your Air Fryer to 360 degrees for 5 minutes, or the closest temperature setting to 360 degrees on your model.
- Brush then season both sides of the chicken breasts with extra virgin olive oil and desired seasonings. OR, marinate chicken breasts in prepared Italian dressing for as little as 10 minutes, or up to 24 hours. Pat dry thoroughly with a paper towel prior to air frying.
- Lightly spray the basket of the air fryer with nonstick spray then add the chicken breasts u2014 they can be touching but not overlapping. Air fry for 13-15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees, flipping the chicken breasts halfway through.
- Let the chicken breasts rest for 5-10 minutes then slice and serve.
Notes
- For extra tender air fryer chicken, always pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness (about 3/4 inch). This ensures even cooking and prevents drying out thinner parts.
- If marinating, pat the chicken completely dry with paper towels before air frying. Excess moisture prevents the skin from crisping up properly.
- Always use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. Poultry should reach 165°F (74°C) to be safe to eat. Resting the chicken for 5-10 minutes after cooking allows the juices to redistribute, resulting in a more succulent air fryer chicken. Nutrition information is an estimate, calculated automatically.
