Dark Chocolate & Gold Leaf Cake

Ingredients:

  • 🍫 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 🍫 5.5 oz dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa)
  • 🍬 3/4 cup sugar
  • 🧈 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 🥚 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 🥛 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 🍫 3.5 oz dark chocolate (for the glaze)
  • 🍬 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for the glaze)
  • ✨ Edible gold leaf (for decoration)

Directions:

🥄 Preheat the oven:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C, fan-assisted). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.

🍫 Prepare the batter:

  1. Melt 🍫 dark chocolate with 🧈 butter in a double boiler or microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring between each interval.
  2. In a bowl, mix 🍫 flour and 🍬 sugar.
  3. Add 🥚 eggs, 🍫 melted chocolate-butter mixture, and 🥛 milk. Stir until the batter is smooth and well combined.

🍰 Bake the cake:

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
